Blick ins Studio

Wir sind ein unabhängiges, kreativ geführtes Design-Studio und "Drucklabor" für handgefertigte Kunstdrucke mit Fokus auf Siebdruck. Als Printmaker produzieren und vertreiben wir unter der Marke Stellavie seit bald 15 Jahren eigene Siebdrucke und Letterpress-Prints — handgedruckt, mit satter Farbe und hochwertigem Papier.

Druckveredelung

Als Kommunikations-Designer pflegen wir eine klar ausgesprochene Liebe für Drucksachen und Druckveredelungen jeglicher Art. Absolut großartig und umwerfend finden wir Blindprägungen: ein Papier wird zwischen zwei Druckformen (Matritze und Patritze) mit Druck zusammengepresst, so dass im Papier anschließend eine Vertiefung und Erhöhung fühl- und sichtbar wird. Dazu haben wir unsere englische, uralte Adana-Handruckpresse, sagen wir mal, naja, leicht modifiziert.

Verpackung & Versand

Unsere Drucke kommen gut verpackt und safe bei dir an. Wir lassen für euch regelmäßig Hülsen mit besonders großem Druchmesser als Sonderanfertigung anfertigen, so dass wir Drucke sicher in Schlauchfolie und Posterrolle verpacken und anschließend mit einer weiteren Umverpackung versenden können.

Anlieferung

Hülsen als Sonderanfertigung kommen in der Regel auf vielen, vielen Paletten. Gut, dass wir einen großen Lastenfahrstul im Haus haben.

Archiv & Lager

Über die Jahre sind wir zu Sammlern von Papier unterschiedlichster Art und Herkunft geworden, sauber als kleine Muster sortiert oder stapelweise als formatgroße Einzelblätter. Darunter handgeschöpftes Büttenpapier wie Arches 88, BFK Rives oder St Cuthberts Somerset, von Händlern und Marken wie Fabriano, Fedrigoni, Hahnemühle, Gmund, Römerturm. Außerdem horten wir mannigfaltig Druckmaterial, Farben, Linolplatten, you name it.

Racktime

Ohne Hordenwagen, bzw. Stapeltrockner wären wir absolut geliefert. Okay, als wir damals im Wohnzimmer mit dem Drucken angefangen haben, taten es auch der Wäschetrockner und Magnete an der Wand, bis wirklich jeder freie Platz zweireihig tapeziert war. Geht alles, klar … Frisch gedruckt dürfen eure Drucke jedenfalls in Ruhe trocknen. Insgesamt haben wir Platz für ca. 150-200 große Drucke.

Archiv & Lager

Wir arbeiten auf 125 qm und haben einfach immer zu wenig Tische und Regale. Vor allem zu wenig Tische. Und Regale. Frag' nicht, warum.

Blick ins Studio

Hier ist immer was los. Inwischen ist das Studio wahrscheinlich schon wieder 3 und 1/2 neu umgebaut. Mehr Tische, mehr Regale.

500 kg aus 1964

Unsere Korrex-Andruckpresse ist eine traditionelle Zylinder-Buchdruckmaschine. Wir füttern sie mit Holzlettern, handgeschnitztem Linol, LEGO-Druckplatten (yes, Legoplatten & glatte Steine) und klebriger Letterpress-Farbe.

Handmade & Handwerk

Alte Maschinen wollen gelegentlich repariert werden. Das Gute an Maschinen, die praktisch bereits ein halbes Jahrhundert alt sind uns aus einer f*#cking halben Tonne Stahl bestehen: sie sind fast so unkaputtbar wie Iron Man und Pflege und Wartung sind eigentlich jederzeit möglich.

Frische Farbe

Wir haben mit der Zeit einige Farbsysteme und Möglichkeiten ausprobiert, sind inzwischen aber bei einer selbstgemischten Basispaste gelandet und absolut zufrieden mit Druckbarkeit, Haltbarkeit und Viskosität. Gemixt wird mit Pigmenten unterschiedlicher Herkunft, darunter hochwertige, hochpigmentierte, traditionelle Acrylfarben, Druckpasten, Farbteige u. Farben & Pigmente zum Beispiel aus Belgien und Italien.

Siebrahmen

Im Studio stehen inzwischen über 100 Rahmen, bespannt mit feinem Siebgewebe und ready-made mit belichteten Druckvorlagen. Der Druck-Prozess startet jedes Mal neu, mit frischer Farbe auf unserem Siebdrucktisch. Fast alle Siebrahmenn behalten und benutzen wir, bis sich die Beschichtung auflöst. Anschließend dann wird neu belichtet.
